Welcome

Do you have a yearning for spiritual grounding in your life?

Do you wish you had a group of people with whom to explore spirituality and your relationship to God/the Divine/Creator?

Have you found it difficult to find a church community in which you fit?

You are welcome among us.

We are now offering "hybrid" worship opportunities every Sunday. If you would like to join us for worship via Zoom at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings,  please contact us by e-mail for details of the link.   Visitors are always welcome either online or in our meeting space at the Winthrop Congregational Church on the corner of Main St. and Bowdoin St. in Winthrop, Maine.

Worship with us!

We welcome anyone who would like to worship with us as a spiritual companion. Friends believe there is “that of God” in everyone capable of guiding, challenging and comforting them individually and also together as a gathered worshiping body. Quakerism has its roots in Christianity but we embrace a wide diversity of beliefs. We do not have a creed, since we believe the Divine is continually revealing and being revealed.

Meeting Times

Winthrop Center Friends is a semi-programmed Quaker Meeting with worship each Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

However, one Sunday each month (usually the fourth Sunday) is “unprogrammed”. On those Sundays Friends gather in quiet waiting in which anyone may be led to speak to those gathered.
